NORWICH – Two individuals were sentenced to probation when the Chenango County Court convened for an afternoon session on Monday, July 25. Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride represented the people in both cases, while The Honorable Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. presided over matters.

• Justin J. Pratt, of Whitney Point, appeared in court with appointed defense attorney John Cameron.

It was alleged that on January 12, 2016, at approximately 4:33 p.m., on County Road 2, in the Town of Smithville, Pratt was operating a motor vehicle with greater than .08 percent of alcohol in his bloodstream, constituting a DWI charge. Pratt was alleged to have been driving his 2001 Chevy Silverado with .14 of one percent of alcohol in his bloodstream, as calculated by chemical analysis of his breath.

In an agreed upon plea deal with the District Attorney's Office, Pratt agreed to enter a plea of guilty to the class E felony of driving while intoxicated. In return, he received a sentence of one-year of interim probation. If Pratt is successful during this year, then the felony charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor, and he will be sentenced to three years of probation, with credit for time served.
