OXFORD – Chenango County thoroughly enjoyed hosting its first ever 3v3 Live Soccer Tour this past weekend, on Sunday August 7.
The tournament, a live action display of 27 teams, both local and out of state, enjoyed a Sunday filled with ideal late summer weather as teams – which consisted of six individuals, with three playing (without a goal keeper) at any time. All 27 teams were guaranteed at least four 20 minute games split into two 10 minute halves. At the end of the day long tournament a champion was crowned from each of the five different divisions.
“Your town and the fields were like something coming out of a postcard, it was incredible,” said Northeast Director of 3v3 Live Soccer Tour, Joe Dutra. “The fields were in spectacular condition. I have been doing this for a while now and I have to say it is probably one of the best fields I have seen.”
Dutra went on to explain that due to this being the inaugural tournament for 3v3 Live in Chenango County he personally attended the event to make sure everything ran smoothly.
