City Eyes Grant For Fluoride System Upgrades

NORWICH – The City of Norwich may be pursuing grant opportunities that will allow it to update the fluoride treatment in the municipal water system.

According to Norwich DPW Superintendent Carl Ivarson, the $301,400 grant through the NYS Department of Health, yet to be approved by the Office of the NY Comptroller, would allow the city to upgrade the fluoride treatment station at the Rexford Street pump station and the Boarden Avenue station well house.
