NORWICH – Two women sit at the Chenango County Correctional Facility following a ‘no knock’ raid that took place Tuesday afternoon on Cortland Street.

According to the Norwich Police Department, members of the NPD, along with members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, executed the search warrant at approximately 11:59 a.m. at an apartment located at 20 Cortland Street.

One individual was taken into custody inside the residence at the time the warrant was executed and shortly thereafter and during the continuation of the investigation, a second individual was arrested on Mechanic Street.

Police Chief Rodney Marsh said “a quantity of crack” was recovered.

Kimberly Harrington, 27, homeless, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony.

The criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree alleges that Harrington knowingly and unlawfully possessed a narcotic drug with intent to sell it. In this instance, the alleged narcotic drug was crack cocaine.

Kara Conklin, 44, 20 Cortland St., downstairs rear apartment, was arrested for criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
