NORWICH - “I hope you really think tonight in your jail cell of all of the people you've hurt. You're no man, you're a coward,” said a female victim to describe the man who was convicted of putting a gun to her head and threatening to end her life.

James S. McIntosh, 32, of Norwich, was involved in a domestic dispute in the City of Norwich, back on March 24, 2016.

According to authorities, at approximately 2:15 p.m. that Thursday, the Norwich Police Department received a call from the Chenango County Sheriff's Office 911 Center of a domestic dispute at a residence on Sheldon Street.

NPD officers immediately responded, but it was discovered the subject had left the residence prior to their arrival.

Officers began the investigation and the victim was returned to the Norwich Police Headquarters. It was reported that a short time later, the NPD received information that the subject had returned to the residence.

Officers then subsequently returned to the residence and McIntosh was taken into custody without incident.

During the dispute, it was alleged that McIntosh pointed a loaded Optima V2 50 Caliber Black Powder Pistol at the victim and threatened to kill said victim, creating a grave risk of death.

It was also alleged that McIntosh would not let the victim leave, struck the victim with a closed fist, causing bruising to their face, as well as placed his arm around the neck of the victim to obstruct their breathing.
