BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats now rest, winless in 2016, as they saw their young squad fall victim to a run-heavy Deposit-Hancock, losing in a blowout at 54-26.
Following the beginnings of the game, it looked to be a true contest with the score knotted at 6-6, however a determined Deposit-Hancock wasted no time finding their way to the end zone, as they finished just the first quarter at 21-6.
Jackson Miller would find the end zone for the first of four scores in the game, as he opened up the contest when he plowed his way in for the touchdown from seven yards out.
This was quickly answered with a Bobcat score after quarterback Austin Carr ripped off a 65 yard sprint to the end zone.
Miller would again pound his way in for the Deposit-Hancock score, this time from one yard out – followed by a Darren Shaver kick for the 13-6 lead.
Shaver, not happy with just one point in the contest, would then intercept a Carr pass for the 55 yard interception return for the touchdown – Dustin Daly point after kick.
Carr, staring in the face of adversity would rally his squad after his costly interception. Carr and the Bobcats would string together two drives ending in touchdowns – both Carr rushing scores from one and three yards out – as BG would draw with a touchdown of Deposit-Hancock at 27-20 as they neared the the end of the half.
