NORTH NORWICH – Hundreds attended a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Sept. 29, to celebrate the continued growth and expansion of one of Chenango’s largest manufacturers.
Norwich Pharmaceuticals, an Alvogen company, held the event at its campus in the Town of North Norwich.
“Thank you for believing in us and in the value of this expansion, both to our global company and the local community,” said Norwich Pharmaceuticals VP of Operations Charlie Andrews, as he addressed the Norwich employees, members of the business community, and elected officials who gathered for the occasion.
Norwich broke ground on the $26 million dollar project in April of 2015. The scope of work included the conversion of 20,000 sq. ft. of existing warehouse space into a state of the art production area, as well as construction of a 10,000 sq. ft. utility building. Both are expected to be fully on line before the end of the year.
