NORWICH – Few details have been released by authorities, but it has been confirmed that one is dead following a gunshot on Division Street Thursday.

According to the Norwich Police, it was at 6:07 p.m. when a radio call from the Chenango County 911 Dispatch Center reached the Norwich Police, the report stating there had been ‘an accidental shooting’ at a residence on Division Street in the City of Norwich.

Both the Norwich Police and Norwich Fire Departments responded to the residence.

It was then that officers on the scene located the victim with an apparent gunshot wound.
