OXFORD – The Oxford boy’s varsity basketball team fell to 4-7 on the season after a loss to Walton last night, Jan. 19.
The Blackhawks offense struggled immensely in the first quarter, only mustering up four points, and that was the decisive turning point.
Despite playing competitively for the remainder of the game, Oxford could never catch Walton, and succumbed to defeat on a scoreline of 61-47.
“We dug ourselves in a hole early in the game, and never made it out,” said Blackhawks head coach Tim Davis following his side’s defeat.
Jordan Davis was the star of the show for Oxford on the night, as he shot a game high 21 points, and added 11 rebounds to the stat sheet.
Oxford will take a trip to Unatego next Monday, Jan. 23, in an attempt to get back to winning ways. Tip-off in that matchup is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
