NORWICH – A 19-year-old sits in the local jail following his arrest Friday.
According to the Norwich Police Department, an investigation concluded resulting in the arrest of Jose L. Fulwood, of Norwich.
Fulwood was charged with rape in the second degree, a class D felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
Per a release from the Norwich Police Department, the felony charge alleges that Fulwood – being 18 or older – engaged in intercourse with another person less than fifteen years old.
The endangering charge accuses Fulwood of acting in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral wellbeing of a child less than 17 years old.
Fulwood was arranged before Judge James E. Downey in Norwich City Court Friday afternoon.
He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
Fulwood is to reappear in the Norwich City Court at a later date.
The above is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
