HARPURSVILLE – The Crimson Knights of Afton started their season-opener in the best way possible jumping all over the Hornets of Harpursville in an 11-5 victory on Wednesday April 5.
Afton drew first blood in the very first inning when Vincent Caiati drove in the first two runs of the afternoon via the route of the ‘long-ball’ when he homered to left field.
It wouldn’t be the only time a Crimson Knight player left the yard. Colin Nabinger followed Caiati’s lead when he drove in three runs of his own when he homered to right field to push the Afton lead to 5-0. From there, the Crimson Knights drove in at least one run in four of the final five innings.
