NORWICH – A 33-year-old Norwich man sits in the local jail without bail and stands accused of numerous crimes.
The Norwich Police Department reported that a Borden Avenue resident filed a complaint at approximately 10:51 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, reporting a suspicious individuals was observed on both the caller’s property, and the caller’s neighbor’s property.
“While officers were patrolling the area, they were flagged down by a victim that lived on Lee Avenue,” read a release from the NPD. “The victim had actually chased the suspect from their property. The victim reported the suspect had been inside a parked vehicle and the suspect had also attempted to enter a locked garage.”
Officers with the NPD later located the subject allegedly attempting to enter a shed on Berry Street in Norwich.
Following a foot pursuit, the man was taken into custody and held in lockup at the police station pending arraignment.
Steven A. Cutting, of 3 River Street Trailer Park, Norwich, was charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor; petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor; and trespass, a violation.
