AFTON – The impressive high school student-athlete of Amanda Greenwood, has decided to further her athletic passion this coming fall of 2017, when she will be a Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawk.
From Crimson Knight to Redhawk – Greenwood has put in a combined 12 varsity seasons for Afton. Greenwood has notched five years of varsity level Indoor Track and Field, four years of Volleyball, and now is competing in her third year of varsity Softball.
“Academics are really important, academics really count,” said Greenwood recounting the focus she wishes she had a younger age on academics. “The school has my major, I am going for Physical Education.”
Immersing herself in the athletic realm, the soon-to-be undergrad has decided to major in what other than a major involving the sporting world. Greenwood is receiving athletic scholarships to play three sports as a freshman undergraduate.
Greenwood will be joining the Redhawk ranks for three sports – Volleyball, Indoor Track and Field, and Outdoor Track and Field.
“This is a big moment, signing this commitment for your future and the rest of your life,” said Afton’s head softball coach Cindy Bostelman, just prior to the signing. “This is a proud moment in women’s athletics.”
