NORWICH – Beginning this upcoming Friday, June 9, the Chenango Arts Council (CAC) will host two events in its quest to bring culture through arts to the residents of greater Chenango County.
On Friday, at 5:30 p.m., the CAC is proud to introduce selected works of artist and illustrator Erich Kennedy in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries located behind the Martin Kappel Theater within the facility at 27 West Main St.
Following formal education at the Fashion Institute of Technology and receiving his B.S. with honors, Kennedy began his early career as a fashion illustrator, having many published pieces in Women’s Wear Daily, The New York Times and numerous other fashion publications and trade magazines.
Kennedy segued from an art director position to fashion, to finally designing and merchandising of garments, working mostly in sportswear and active apparel.
Kennedy lived and worked in Manhattan for 30 years, and most recently has made his home in central upstate New York State-spending much of his time painting at his lake house studio. He chooses to paint and sketch quintessential rural central New York images.
