MANCHESTER, NH – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies swept the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in a doubleheader on Saturday evening at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Ponies grabbed the opener, 4-3, before three members of the bullpen combined to two-hit the Fisher Cats in the 2-0 nightcap.

Game One – Binghamton 4, New Hampshire 3

Down by two, Binghamton started their comeback in the fourth. With two aboard, LJ Mazzilli banged an RBI double off the right-field wall. After filling the bases by walking Champ Stuart, Fisher Cat starter Jon Harris handed out back-to-back walks to Luis Guillorme and Kevin Kaczmarski. Stuart added to the Ponies’ lead by skipping an RBI single off reliever Justin Shafer’s glove in the fifth inning.

Casey Delgado (5-4) battled into the sixth inning to extend his unbeaten streak to eight games. The righty allowed seven hits and walked five over five innings, but surrendered only two runs to earn the win, his first since May 26.

Tim Peterson took over after Delgado walked leadoff hitter Tim Lopes in the sixth and tossed a scoreless inning. New Hampshire scratched out a run in the seventh against Peterson before the righty retired Danny Jansen to notch his fourth save of the season.

Binghamton’s defense shined in the nightcap. With a runner on second in the second, Tyler Moore made a diving catch at first to rob Alex Monsalve of an RBI. Kevin Kaczmarski denied Matt Dean with a leaping grab at the wall in the left-field corner in the third and robbed Dean again with a sliding catch in the fifth. LJ Mazzilli added a diving catch in right field in the fourth.

Ben Griset (2-0) kept the momentum rolling on the mound with two perfect innings of relief to earn the win. Cory Burns tossed a spotless seventh to earn his fifth save.
