NORWICH – According to Chenango County District Attorney Joseph A. McBride, the Court of Appeals has reversed a decision handed down earlier this year that granted convicted murderer Ganesh R. Ramsaran a new trial.
Because of this decision, his conviction has been re-instated and Ramsaran will not receive a new trial.
McBride said that the decision is pending further review by the Appellate Division.
Ramsaran was convicted in September 2014 of killing his wife Jennifer Ramsaran.
After a trial and three hours of deliberation, the jury returned with a guilty verdict.
He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Further information will be published as it’s made avaiable.
