ONEONTA – It was the home team who took all the spoils on Wednesday night, as Oneonta were victors in the Otsenango PONY League consolation championship, beating Unadilla Valley on a score line of 13-2.
After a tense first inning, the Yellowjackets jumped out to a nine-run lead and never looked back.
Oneonta tacked on four additional runs in the third inning to complete their barrage.
The Unadilla bats were stifled throughout the game, with the team only managing to lodge just two hits the entire game. Those hits came off of the bats of Drew Emrich and Brandon Kneale.
Oneonta grabbed nine team hits in the win – as the defenses played solid baseball, both committing just two fielding errors.
