PHARSALIA – The Chenango Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will host a Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to noon, Aug. 23, at the Pharsalia town hall, located at 1040 CR-8 in East Pharsalia.
Each Drug Take-Back event is a chance for residents to dispose of their old and unused medicines, making their home a safer place.
Anyone wishing to dispose of old medications should keep them in their original bottles for the Take-Back event.
The Coalition warns never to keep old medications, put them in the garbage, or flush them. Those on new medications should always keep them in a safe place.
The Pharsalia Drug Take-Back Day, done in collaboration with the Norwich City Police and the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, is the latest installment of Take-Back events held throughout Chenango County.
People seeking help with addiction are encouraged to call Chenango Behavioral Health Services at 337-1600.
Drug Take-Back events are funded by the RC Smith Foundation. The program is completely anonymous and no questions will be asked. All medications will be accepted.
