Police: Parolee Operating ‘suspicious Vehicle’ Gave False Name

OXFORD – Police said a parolee gave them a false name when stopped on Turner Street.

According to members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Miller and Deputy Eaton stopped a ‘suspicious vehicle’ Tuesday night that was said to be operated by 34-year-old Richard Tyler.

It was reported that during the stop, Tyler allegedly gave authorities a false name, but, “members of the Sheriff’s Office were already familiar with his true identity.”
