EDMESTON – Despite getting into early foul trouble, Unadilla Valley’s Julia Oglesby led the Storm to a 48-34 victory over the host Edmeston Panthers on Tuesday night.
UV opened the game with a 19-4 lead after one quarter with very balanced scoring throughout the team, making 14 field goals. But the Storm quickly went quiet in the second, only making three of their 11 free-throw attempts.
The Panthers took advantage Riana Partridge knocked down two three’s in the quarter, helping close the large lead down to four by the intermission.
Oglesby caught fire quickly in the third as she recorded 16 of her game-high 18 points, shooting 9-11 from the floor for the Lady Storm. UV scored a total of 20 points in the quarter while holding Edmeston to eight, giving themselves a large lead once again.
The Panthers won the fourth quarter 8-6 but it wasn’t enough to close the gap created by the Storm in the third.
