Chenango traffic stop seizes nearly two-pounds of pot

CHENANGO – Troopers arrested a 21-year-old Delaware man for possession of nearly two-pounds of marijuana after a routine traffic stop in the Town of Chenango on Tuesday.

New York State Police arrested James Y. Togo of Wilmington, DE after pulling over Togo for speeding on Interstate 81 and detecting a strong odor of marijuana.

Troopers say Togo produced a marijuana cigarette during the traffic stop to account for the smell, and a follow-up K9 sweep of the vehicle revealed nearly two-pounds of marijuana, a scale, drug paraphernalia, various controlled substances, and over $4,000 in cash.
