Council Appoints Papelino As Norwich Fire Chief

NORWICH – The City of Norwich Common Council appointed First Assistant Fire Chief Jan Papelino as the new fire chief at its regular meeting on Tuesday evening.

Effective June 4, Papelino will be sworn-in as Norwich Fire Chief after his appointment was unanimously approved by the council Tuesday.

Papelino is a 39-year employee and volunteer of the fire department. He will succeed retired Norwich Fire Chief Tracy Chawgo.
