NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Storm football program will be handing out equipment for all varsity and modified players for the upcoming season at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 20.

The newly appointed varsity coach Art Rigas also said the team will be hosting a thud camp on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week with the first varsity practice starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 23.

The Storm program has switched to the eight-man league this season, the first year the format has been a part of Section IV football. Eight-man football is different from the traditional 11-man game as three players are removed from the line and the game is played on a smaller field.

The eight-man league benefits schools with smaller enrollments. Oxford is another program in Section IV who went to the smaller team format. Both teams will have their first game of the season September 15 and are scheduled to face each other at 7 p.m. on October 12 in Unadilla Valley.
