Former Treasurer Pleads Guilty To Stealing From Coventry Fire Department

NORWICH – The previous Coventry Fire Department treasurer pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny on Monday just before her trial was scheduled to begin, with prosecutors claiming she stole approximately $83,000 from the volunteer department.

Julie M. Clark, 57, pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny on Monday and is facing probation or state prison time, depending on if the money is paid back.

Though Clark plead guilty in court, the judge has yet to determine a final amount owed in the case. A final decision and a restitution hearing is scheduled for October 19.
