NORWICH – Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R–New Hartford) and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi (D–Utica) both visited Norwich on Monday to thank their supporters and make one last push for office in the 22nd Congressional District ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections.
From the Chenango Republican Committee Headquarters and Chenango County Democrat Committee Headquarters, Tenney and Brindisi both thanked the people in attendance for their support and highlighted that they both believe they will win the race if they have a high voter turnout.
Tenney said to supporters that polls show her with a slight lead over Brindisi, but noted when she was elected in 2016, most polls showed her down by 3 percent. She said, "This race is close, it's going to come to turnout ... Honestly if we get our voters out, we're going to do great. And this is good for us in the future, not just for not getting our taxes raised, avoiding two years of impeachment, and Maxine [Waters] taking over my committee."
