GREENE – A blown water main in the Village of Greene caused a full shutdown for both the village and the town until city officials found the issue and addressed it. Greene will remain under a boil advisory under test results return.
According to Village of Greene Trustee Elizabeth Maley, the initial water issue was caused by a water main rupture under Greene's old Key Bank building.
"The water main under the old Key Bank building broke around 8 a.m. on Saturday and was fixed by 9 p.m. that night," said Maley.
