The Jewish Center of Norwich gathered to celebrate Hanukkah on Sunday evening, which began on the evening of Sunday, December 2 and ends on Monday evening, December 10. Hanukkah celebrates an ancient victory of Jewish people fighting to retain their religious freedom. According to legend, ancient Jewish people relit a menorah to rededicate to the Temple and only had enough oil for one night, but it lasted for eight nights, thus becoming the Miracle of Hanukkah.
