GREENE – The Greene girls basketball team displayed strong ball movement and great sharing of the ball in their 50-14 win over the Dryden Lions Tuesday night.
The Lady Trojans had a team total of 14 assists in the game with McKenna Sergi leading with three.
Greene’s head coach Dave Gorton said the execution and intensity by his team in the second quarter really opened up the game. While already holding a eight point lead after the first, the Trojans extended it by going on a 17-3 run.
During the eight minute stretch, Greene saw points added to the scoreboard by five different players. Emma Smith of the Trojans led the quarter’s scoring summary with six. She finished the contest with 12.
In the final quarter of play, the defensive effort by Greene held the Lions to zero points. Offensively, the Trojan players who had yet to score in the game put their mark when they found their way to the basket to give every player on Greene’s roster two or more points in the contest.
