NORWICH – Norwich Police Department officials said law enforcement in Norwich will be cracking down on drunk drivers on New Year’s Eve, and suggested individuals come up with a safe way home before leaving for celebrations.

According to Norwich Police Department Assistant Chief Scott Burlison, the Norwich Police Department will have a dedicated officer called in to keep an eye out for drunk drivings tonight, and said for those who are considering drinking and driving, “Don’t.”

Several other law enforcement agencies, such as the state police, are also scheduling additional patrols for the holiday.
