NORWICH – The City of Norwich Youth Bureau will no longer provide hockey equipment at the ice rink. Instead, the equipment has been declared surplus and will be given away for free to anyone who wants it.
City of Norwich Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason said over the years the bureau has accumulated a quantity of assorted hockey equipment, but it has become too much for the facility to maintain and repair.
As a result, the city council declared the equipment surplus at its December meeting, allowing the bureau to give the equipment away for free to interested individuals. This does not include ice skates, which the bureau will be retaining and allowing people to use for free at the ice rink.
