UTICA – A Chenango County resident's photography will be on display in the Museum of Art at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica beginning in February.
"Tommy Brown: Upstate" will be on view at the museum from February 9 to April 7, featuring 42 large prints ranging from the early 1980s to summer 2018 by local photographer Tommy Brown.
From 3 to 5 p.m. on the opening Saturday, February 9, Brown will be in attendance for a reception and meet the artist event. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, Brown will discuss his work at a gallery talk.
A press release from Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute released Thursday said Mary Murray, the institute's head of curatorial and exhibitions; curator of modern and contemporary art, met Brown in the early 1990s when he was a gallery director at the Chenango County Council for the Arts in Norwich.
