NORWICH – Two individuals are facing indictments for felony crimes, one who allegedly worked with others to burglarize a home in the Town of Pharsalia before being captured by police following a high speed chase, and the other for allegedly selling methamphetamine in the City of Norwich.
Dakota J. Davenport, 24, was indicted on third-degree burglary, a class D felony, third-degree unlawful fleeing from a police officer in a motor vehicle, a class A misdemeanor, and second-degree reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor.
According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting, members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police attempted to stop a 1998 Subaru Legacy being operated by Dakota J. Davenport at 12:33 p.m. on January 17 after his speed was verified at 101 mph on County Road 32.
Cutting said Davenport and another front seat passenger were each covering their faces during the pursuit in an attempt to hide their identity, with another person in the back of the vehicle. At the time of publishing, the other two passengers, Macey M. Newkirk, 26, and Zane Marvin, 36, have yet to be indicted on related charges.
