CHENANGO COUNTY – In honor of the 46th annual National Agriculture Day, the Chenango County Farm Bureau will host an agriculture celebration dubbed "Agriculture: Food for Life" at the Silo Restaurant in Greene from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Chenango County Farm Bureau President Bradd Vickers said, "This event honors National Agriculture Day and marks a nationwide effort to tell the true story of American agriculture and remind citizens that agriculture is a part of all of us."
New York State Agriculture and Markets Deputy Commissioner Dave Valesky will be the keynote speaker at the event, and several producers, agricultural associations, corporations, FFA students and government organizations involved in agriculture are also expect to attend.
At the Chenango County Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, Chairman Lawrence Wilcox issued a proclamation declaring Wednesday, March 20 National Agriculture Day in Chenango County, with Vickers in attendance.
