A funeral for Norwich Police Department Sergeant Timothy Annesi, Jr. will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Broad Street Methodist Church in Norwich. Sgt. Annesi, a 13-year member of the Norwich Police Department, passed away unexpectedly Sunday after complications from chronic illness. Calling hours will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mayor Christine Carnrike extended sympathies to Sgt. Annesi’s family, friends and the Norwich Police Department at the Common Council meeting on Tuesday, before a moment of silence was held on his behalf. City hall, finance office, youth bureau, and code enforcement offices will be closed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday morning as employees attend Sgt. Annesi’s funeral. (Submitted photo)
