CHENANGO COUNTY – The Center State Conference (CSC) and Southern Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) announced their girls and boys All-Star selections for the 2018-2019 season as the basketball season has officially come to a close in New York.
Sherburne-Earlville’s Hunter Lane, a senior guard on the boys basketball team, was named as the CSC Division-I Most Valuable Player for the season.
Lane eclipsed the 1,000 career points milestone on the Marauders’ senior night. The S-E senior averaged 23.6 points per game and finished with a total of 520 for the season.
Lane ended his career with a point total of 1,135, which is now second on the all-time scoring list for the Marauders’ program.
Also earning All-Star honors for the S-E boys team were junior point guard Gabe Irwin and junior forward Noah Posson.
Irwin finished the season with 143 assists as well as 8.6 points per game average. Posson scored 6.3 per game and was the team’s leading rebounder with 117 for the year.
Sherburne-Earlville’s Head Coach Kevin Vibbard was named the CSC Division-I coach of the year. Vibbard led his basketball team to 14-6 overall record while winning the league championship after posting a 7-1 record.
On the girl’s side, sophomore Tessa Cole and senior Kaitlyn Furner were named to the CSC Division-I First team while teammate Sage Ashton, a senior, received a second team nod.
