WILKES BARRE, PA – Norwich Pee-Wee wrestlers Drew Telesky, Rocky Burke and Cameron Smith wrestled at the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association (MAWA) North Regional Championships at King’s College in Wilkes Barre, PA over the weekend as the final step in their quest to qualify for the Eastern National Championships at Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, MD on May 4 and 5.
Burke and Smith wrestled hard but came up short while Telesky won four matches and lost two qualifying him for the MAWA Eastern National Championships.
In his second match of the tournament, Telesky lost a close one to the eventual champion. Telesky then went on to win three straight matches putting him in the consolation finals for third place.
Telesky lost with seconds remaining in his last match for third place but ended up qualifying for the nationals.
