CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is once again joining other children's advocacy centers across the nation to spread awareness in local communities with its "Pinwheels for Prevention" program.

According to Child Advocacy Center Community Educator Tracy Henne one of the Child Advocacy Center's main goals is to reduce trauma to child abuse victims and their family members.

"By providing a safe and child friendly environment and utilizing the resources and expert knowledge of the responding agencies we will reduce the trauma to child abuse victims and their family members," said Henne.

In 2016 the center transitioned from being a Catholic Charities run organization to a Broome County Crime Victim Assistance run group, she said.
