Like myself, many of those who submitted a March Mania bracket were out before the start of the final four. It could have been because the first round upsets or the winners no one saw coming in the “Sweet Sixteen” round.
With a total of 63 games being played over the course of three weeks, our winner of the 2019 March Mania contest is Pam Jones of Norwich. Jones correctly picked 48 games correct, beating out several who were tied for second with a score of 47.
Jones started out the contest with a first round score of 27, the highest correctly guessed, out of 32. Without having a team in the championship game, Jones’ first round score helped carry to the win.
There were a total of 63 brackets submitted. Thank you to all who submitted a bracket entry this year. Also, thank you to all of the sponsors of the contest who helped make it possible in both The Evening Sun and The Pennysaver.
