HANCOCK – The Eagles’ Luke Resti and Caleb Walker each hit a grand slam Tuesday night, racking up eight RBIs between the two blasts over the fence in Deposit-Hancock’s 16-0 home win over the Oxford Blackhawks on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks had four hits in the game and were led by Nick Cirello at the plate. Cirello ended the day going 2-for-3, which included one double in the third inning.
Resti sent his grand slam shot over the right field fence in the bottom of the second inning while Walker came in the bottom of the sixth to cap off the Eagles’ scoring. Walker drilled a deep fly ball to center field, scoring teammates Castin Ostrander, Wyatt Jacobs, and Mason Karcher. Walker went 3-for-5 with four RBIs.
After Resti’s homer in the bottom of the second, he decided he wasn’t done as he added a three-run blast in the bottom of the fifth inning. He ended the day with seven RBIs for the game on three hits in four trips to the plate.
Brad Beckwith and Evan Sylstra added base knocks for Oxford. Beckwith picked up his hit in the to lead-off the second inning while Sylstra start the top of the seventh off with a blooper fly ball to center field that dropped in for a single.
