NEW BERLIN – The Lady Blackhawks took the lead from the Storm, who held it after the first inning, by scoring six runs in the top of the second. From there, they never lost the lead again as they went on to win 9-6 Wednesday afternoon.

Oxford collected 16 hits in the game and were led by Trinity Vargas’ 4-for-4 day at the plate. Allison Beckwith also had a perfect batting average in the contest, having three hits in three at-bat while drawing two walks to reach the base path five times in the game.

Maddie Howe of Oxford led the team in the RBI column, finishing with two as she had two hits in the contest.

Unadilla Valley’s Jenna Hitt, Meegan White, Angie Clark, and Emily Hill each had two hits in the ballgame.

Hitt’s ground ball double through the middle of the infield in the bottom of the first inning sent Teresa Burgharct into score, putting the Storm up 2-0 early in the contest. White stole home for the first run scored by UV during Hitt’s at-bat.

The Blackhawks answered in the top of the second as Karley Miller started off what became a big rally for the visiting team with a single on a fly ball hit to left field. Vargas’ first hit of the game was a double to centerfield, moving runners into scoring position early in the frame.
