OXFORD – The Oxford Academy Board of Education announced it is looking at two candidates to interview to be the new superintendent.

The current superintendent Shawn Bissetta, will resign July 1 to take a position as superintendent at Canastota Central School District.

School officials said both candidates, John Hillis of Greene and Scott Ryan of Norwich, will be touring the district this week, meeting staff and students during the day and then introducing themselves and answering questions from the wider school community during a public forum.

The forum began Monday and will continue at the Oxford Academy auditorium from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. tonight.

The board of education began the search process by appointing DCMO District Superintendent Perry Dewey at their April 24 board meeting.
