OXFORD – The Village and Town of Oxford are dealing with damage from flash floods yesterday, and officials are warning that Chenango County may see some additional flooding today.
According to Chenango County Emergency Operation Center Manager A. Wesley Jones, flash flooding will be possible again today, with the greatest threat for flooding across areas that experienced heavy rain yesterday.
Additionally, strong storms will be possible this afternoon and evening, which could lead to further damage throughout the county.
"We don’t know where it’s going to be, but certainly the entire county has some risk of flash flooding today," said Jones. "Yesterday one to three inches of rain fell in a short period of time causing a lot of the flooding and damage in places like Oxford.
