OXFORD – In a statement the Chenango County Emergency Operation Center said nine roads have been reported as closed in the Town of Oxford so far, and students that rely on the school bus for transportation won’t be picked up on those streets.

The center said Stafford Road, Rounds Road, Basswood Road, Wilcox Road, Brooksbank Road, Cosen Road, Gospel Hill Road, Bradley Hill Road, Midland Hill Road in the Town of Oxford are currently closed.

Center officials said that Oxford schools have notified parents that transportation will not be available for students who live on these roads. While school is out at the high school, students who needed transportation for the regents may be effected.

“As darkness is falling do not travel across roads covered in water or where you see damage,” said Chenango County Emergency Center Manager A. Wesley Jones. “It is impossible to see if the road has been compromised.

“Do not become a statistic.”
