EDMESTON – Pathfinder Village recognized the achievements and dedication of its employees celebrating their five-year service anniversaries during a recent luncheon at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown.
Altogether, 23 employees are celebrating 190 years of service to Pathfinder residents, students, and families.
During his comments to thank the honorees, Chief Executive Officer Paul Landers recalled a quote by the Turkish philosopher Rumi, "As you start to walk on the way, the way appears." Mr. Landers said that the employees who have achieved over five years’ experience have "found their way by taking an authentic walk every day in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities."
Mr. Landers also recalled the history of the Village, which was founded in 1980, and noted how today's employees are following in the path of the founders, who worked to create a vibrant, inclusive community in Edmeston for people with disabilities, which since has become a nationally recognized human services organization.
