SHERBURNE – The Roger’s Environmental Education Center in Sherburne is hosting another year of summer camp, providing children with environmental knowledge and experience in nature.
Rogers Environmental Education Center is an organization located at 2721 State Highway 80 in Sherburne, dedicated to enhancing environmental awareness and appreciation of the natural world. It offers 600 acres of a variety of habitats for the walker, bird watcher, photographer, snowshoer, or cross-country skier. Trails traverse woodlands, meadows, wetlands, plantations, and farm fields.
According to Roger’s Center Executive Director Simon Solomon, the camp educates approximately 150 children each year ages 3 to 11, from July 1 to August 16.
“When I was growing up in this area, there wasn’t this kind of opportunity for youth to come out and learn about nature,” said Solomon. “We began the process of starting this program in 2011, and because health department certified in 2015.”
