NORWICH – Despite raining five out of six days, Chenango County Fair organizers said this year's fair was a success that drew approximately 35,000 participants.
The fair was held from Aug. 6 to Aug. 11 at the Chenango County Fairgrounds in Norwich. The festival included a variety of events, such as the fair's first-ever internationally sponsored bull riding competition, demolition derbies, and a concert performance from Sidewalk Prophets (attended by nearly 1,000 people).
Chenango County Agriculture Society President Mary Weidman said this year's fair may have been plagued by rain, but "all in all, it was a success."
"We had solid attendance throughout the fair," said Weidman. "The superintendents were happy with the event, and there were about 35,000 people that attended."
