UV adds another win to season record

BOONVILLE – The Marauders of Sherburne-Earlville traveled to Boonville, New York for the first Center State Conference league match of the season against the Adirondack Wildcats. The boys soccer team returned home with a 7-3 victory to start the conference scheduled 1-0 and their first win of the 2019 season.

The Marauders trailed early in the match when the Wildcats’ Rowan Wysocki converted a rebound save for the first goal of the contest. Minutes later, teammate Ethan Williams tacked on the second goal for Adirondack when he split the defense and ripped a shot towards the goal, putting the ball past S-E keeper John Oley.

Before the end of the first half came to a close, Sherburne-Earlville’s Nathan Morgan found the bouncing, loose ball in the box and headed it past the Wildcats’ goalie Badie Robinson, cutting the Marauders’ deficit down to one.

S-E then went on an offensive runs, tallying six goals in the second half to take home the win.
