Saturdays in the Park will be starting on September 14 and ending on October 19 on each consecutive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Norwich’s West Park.

NORWICH – Series officials said this year’s Saturdays in the Park with Chobani comes with a variety of changes, more vendors, and an increased focus on local businesses.

According to Saturdays in the Park with Chobani Coordinator Mindy Chawgo, over 30 local businesses are scheduled to attend the event, with a variety of goods including pumpkins, organic produce, honey, and more available.

Chawgo said the events will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for six consecutive Saturdays starting on September 14 and ending on October 19 at Norwich’s West Park.

“A lot has changed, we’ve got more vendors this year, and we’ve branched out to the farmhouse field too,” she said. “We are so excited that people are going to be able to shop local for all their fall needs right in their own community.”

She added that vegetables, baked goods, decorations, sandwiches, and coffee among other items are all provided by local businesses and will be available at the event.

“Most of all we want people to know that in our community we have many talented vendors that work hard and with our support we can make their business thrive,” said Chawgo. “Chobani Is again sponsoring this great event and handing out free yogurt every single Saturday.”

“I hope that people come join me for the day down in the park.”

She said along with handing out yogurt, Chobani has done an excellent job marketing the event. She hopes people will take advantage of this opportunity to come out and support local businesses. She added there will be other events people can take part in, including a cornhole tournament which people can still sign-up for.

“We also have two amazing young women that will be performing in the park,” said Chawgo. “Lily Stoddard and Kayleigh Currie are great performers, and we hope people come out to hear them play.”

Chawgo said the two have a band named "2 for Tomorrow," and that they have performed several times at the New Berlin Farmer's Market. They're playing weekends 1, 2, 4, and 6 for the whole event.

She said as the years have passed, she has seen many people leaving the area for Hamilton and Oxford, and this is a great opportunity to show that Norwich is a great place to live and own a business. She added that this event is brought to the area by the Norwich Business Improvement District.
