NEW BERLIN – Two players scored their team’s goals during Monday’s Midstate Athletic Conference battle in New Berlin as Oxford and Unadilla Valley came away with a tie on each team’s record after the 2-2 final score.
Oxford’s Kaylin Tefft gave the Blackhawks an early 1-0 lead after nine minutes of play as she scored passed UV’s keeper Meegan White.
Less than six minutes later, as if it was an instant replay shown on television, Tefft took White 1-on-1 again and tapped it past the Storm’s senior goalkeeper.
The rest of the half and 35 minutes into the second half, Oxford held the 2-0 lead and looks as if they were going to return with the road win despite the offensive pressure by Unadilla Valley.
UV, who controlled possession of the ball and recorded 19 shots, was held scoreless thanks to the efforts of the Blackhawks’ goalie Lexi Kohlhepp as she came away with 17 saves in the contest.
