OTSELIC – Yet another game for the Lady Vikings of Otselic Valley went into overtime again and was decided by one goal but not in favor of OV as the visiting Brookfield Beavers scored with three seconds remaining in the first overtime session and hung out for the 3-2 win Tuesday afternoon.

Otselic Valley has been in four one-goal games this season, ending on the wrong side of each decision.

The Beavers struck first, scoring both of the team’s regulation goals in the first half. Brookfield carried the advantage into the halftime break.

While trailing 2-0, the Vikings did not give in as the home team fought back by controlling the possession in the offensive side of the pitch throughout the second half.

The domination of play in the half led to goals from Emily Miller and Payton Guernsey – both goals coming from a pass by teammate Morgan Smith – allowing Otselic Valley to tie the game and send it into extra time.

OV’s head coach Lori Wood said her girls had many opportunities during the second half and overtime session but were unable to capitalize by finding the back of the net.
